Wanda's Chili Beans

1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 Tbsp. oil (optional if fatty beef)
1 chopped onion
1/2 green bell pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
2 Tbsp. chili powder
1 can (16 oz) diced tomatoes
2 cups tomato sauce
1 can light red kidney beans
Salt & pepper to taste
Brown beef and saute onions with it. Drain off any oil or fat. Stir in chili powder, tomatoes, and tomato sauce. Simmer for at least 20 minutes or leave on low in crock pot for as long as needed. Cook about 10 minutes on stove or 30 minutes in slow cooker after adding beans.
